Batroun Club officially secured its place in next season’s Lebanese Basketball League after defeating Tadamon Hrajel 78-71 in Game 2 of the playout series.
The victory completed a 2-0 sweep in the best-of-three series and ensured Batroun retained the league’s 10th seed, avoiding any further relegation concerns.
For Tadamon Hrajel, the defeat means their season is not over yet. The club will now face the runner-up of Lebanon’s Division 2 championship in a high-stakes barrage series, where a place in next season’s top division will be on the line.
Batroun once again relied on the production of its key players to finish the job.
Forward AJ Davis delivered another outstanding performance, finishing with 22 points and 16 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. Davis was a constant offensive threat throughout the contest and played a major role in securing Batroun’s survival.
Keon Clergeot followed with another complete performance, recording 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals. The veteran guard’s leadership, defensive intensity, and playmaking proved crucial as Batroun controlled key moments of the game.
“Bob” Saba orchestrated the offense brilliantly, contributing 15 points and 7 assists while making several timely plays whenever Tadamon attempted to close the gap.
Brison Gresham provided valuable support inside, finishing with 8 points and 11 rebounds as Batroun controlled the boards throughout much of the evening.
Despite a determined effort from Tadamon Hrajel, Batroun consistently found answers in crucial possessions and maintained its composure down the stretch to close out the series.
The result caps off a successful survival mission for Batroun, who entered the playout determined to avoid the uncertainty of a barrage matchup and ultimately accomplished their objective in just two games.
For Tadamon Hrajel, attention now turns toward the most important series of their season. A showdown against the Division 2 runner-up awaits, with their Lebanese Basketball League status hanging in the balance.
