Sagesse secured their place in the Final Four with a hard-fought 99-97 victory over Homenetmen, completing a 3-0 sweep in their quarterfinal series.
The game featured a spectacular duel between Deshawndre Washington and Jordan Stevens. Washington delivered another MVP-caliber performance with 39 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists, finishing just one rebound shy of a historic triple-double. On the other side, Stevens answered with 35 points and 13 assists, keeping Homenetmen within striking distance until the final seconds.
Homenetmen’s mid-series signing Michael Watkins made a strong impact, posting 26 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks in an impressive all-around display. Hamad Abou El Rish also contributed 20 points and 11 rebounds in the losing effort.
For Sagesse, Roudy Hajj Moussa provided a major spark off the bench with 17 points, while Simi Shittu added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Sekou Doumbouya chipped in 13 points as the Greens held on to complete the sweep.
A concerning moment for Sagesse came when Youssef Khayat suffered an ankle injury after landing on Hamad Fathy’s foot during the game. The extent of the injury is yet to be determined.
Despite Homenetmen’s best offensive performance of the series, Sagesse’s depth, experience, and the brilliance of Washington proved enough to close out the matchup and punch their ticket to the Final Four.
