Antonine Club took a commanding 2-0 lead in its Final 8 playoff series against Antranik after securing an impressive 86-62 victory on Sunday.
With the win, Antonine now stands just one victory away from booking its place in the Lebanese Basketball League Final Four and completing a series sweep.
After a competitive opening period, Antonine gradually took control of the game on both ends of the floor, limiting one of the league’s most potent offenses and never allowing Antranik to establish any offensive rhythm.
Leading the way once again was veteran guard Dominic Artis, who delivered another outstanding playoff performance with 20 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Artis controlled the pace of the game from start to finish and continued to prove why he has been one of the league’s most impactful imports this season.
Lebanese international Mark Khoury produced a dominant all-around performance, recording 20 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Khoury’s energy and physicality on both ends of the floor played a major role in Antonine’s control of the contest.
Former NBA center Justin Patton anchored the paint with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds while adding 5 blocks, making life difficult for Antranik whenever they attacked the basket.
Godfrey also made a valuable contribution with 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists as Antonine showcased its depth and balanced offensive attack.
For Antranik, the defeat leaves the club on the brink of elimination despite entering the playoffs as the fifth seed after a strong regular season campaign led by Jeremiah Gambrell and Majur Majak.
